1%er outlaw biker
If you read the papers or listen to the news, the media and law enforcement agents have redefined the term "1%er". The term was first used in the 60’s to describe some of the people that attended the motorcycle events back then. The AMA (American Motorcycle Association) stated that 99% of the people at their events were god fearing and family oriented. The other 1% were hard riding, hard partying, non mainstream type people. Thus the term 1%er was born. Some of the early bikers embraced the term and decided to call themselves 1%ers. It did not mean that they were law breakers or low life individuals. They were simply men that rode their motorcycles seven days a week in all kinds of weather, liked to drink and raise a little hell. Sometime during the 80’s law enforcement changed the meaning of the 1%er to what they wanted it to represent. It didn’t matter that their meaning was incorrect, they just spoon fed it to the general public and the courts as they had so many other things.
Motorcycle Clubs are rich in history and tradition. One of those traditions is the wearing of a 1%er patch on our vests and referring to ourselves as a 1%er club. The 1%er definition as we see it is one that explains our commitment to Biking and Brotherhood. We ride our motorcycles every day rain or shine. We ride thousands of miles each year with our Brothers to attend parties, social events, funerals and just plain spending time together. We work, have families and do all the things that our neighbors do. In addition to that we belong to a Brotherhood that we are able to combine with our day to day lives. Then the wax will be casted as the mother mould. Repaired the mould and make into a rubber mould, we will create the mould of the size you want.

Motorcycle club
The abbreviations MC and MCC are both used to mean "motorcycle club" but have a special social meaning from the point of view of the outlaw or one percenter motorcycling subculture. MC is generally reserved for those clubs that are mutually recognized by other MC or outlaw motorcycle clubs. This is indicated by a motorcyclist wearing an MC patch, or a three-piece patch called colors, on the back of their jacket or riding vest. Outlaw or one percenter can mean merely that the club is not chartered under the auspices of the American Motorcyclist Association, implying a radical rejection of authority and embracing of the "biker" lifestyle as defined and popularized since the 1950s and represented by such media as Easyriders magazine. In many contexts the terms overlap with the usual meaning of "outlaw" because some of these clubs, or some of their members, are recognized by law enforcement agencies as taking part in organized crime.
Outside of the outlaw motorcyclist subculture, the words "motorcycle club" carry no pejorative meaning beyond the everyday English definition of the words – a club involving motorcycles, whose members come from every walk of life. Thus, there are clubs that are culturally and stylistically nothing like outlaw or one percenter clubs, and whose activities and goals not similar to them at all, but still use three-part patches or the initials MC in their name or insignia. In other countries, such motorcycle clubs will adopt the abbreviation MCC.
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is the largest American motorcyclist organization. It serves as an umbrella organization for local clubs and sporting events.
While organizations may vary, the typical internal organization of a motorcycle club consists of a president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, road captain, and sergeant-at-arms (sometimes known as enforcer). Localized groups of a single, large MC are called chapters and the first chapter established for an MC is referred to as the mother chapter. The president of the mother chapter serves as the president of the entire MC, and sets club policy on a variety of issues.

The term "One-Percenters" originated from the July 4, 1947 motorcycle rally held in Hollister, California. The rally, which was attended by approximately 4,000, captured media attention after a fight broke out between two motorcycle clubs, the Boozefighters and the Pissed Off Bastards.
Life magazine ran a pictorial series of the annual rally which sparked both fascination and concern about the violent, unruly nature of the growing subculture of motorcycle groups.
he event became known as the "Hollister Riot" although there is no real documentation that an actual riot occurred.
Afterwards, films about motorcycle clubs with members depicting bad behavior began hitting the movie theaters. The WILD ONE, starring Marlon Brando, brought particular attention to gang-type behavior displayed by members of motorcycle clubs.
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) defended the reputations of its members to the press, stating that 99 percent of bikers are law-abiding citizens, but there's that last "one percent" that are nothing more than "outlaws."
The term caught on and new motorcycle gangs emerged, called the "one-percenters," which included the Hells Angels.
Dave Nichols is author of a new book that pulls back the veil of secrecy surrounding outlaw biker gangs. It describes how they became known as "One Percenters" following the infamous 1947 Hollister motorcycle riot. The American Motorcycle Association issued a press release blaming the violence on a small minority of bikers, saying that "99 percent of motorcycle riders are good citizens."
there is certainly a distinct ring of truth in the old biker motto, that states:
"When we do right, nobody remembers. When we do wrong, nobody forgets!"
Biker Skull Rings – Human Skull Symbology
One of the most popular biker rings would have to be the skull rings. There are now literally thousands of different designs out there to choose from. The materials they are made of are as varied as stainless steel, titanium, gold, silver, in fact just about any material that’s been used for other rings are used to make these cool rings. You can even get them with stones embedded, diamonds for those who can afford them all the way down to worthless pieces of glass.
But one thing that has interested me, is what does the human skull actually represent. If you asked ten people this same question, most if not all would say it represents death and perhaps is a reminder of our own mortality. Whilst this is a nice thought (yes, I really did just say nice), is that all there is to it? Or maybe there are other meanings to this symbology.
In doing a little research I found that over the centuries, and in some cultures even today, there have been a number of different meanings assigned to the image of the skull. One such meaning is that it represents the transcience of the material world, ie. what is here today is gone tomorrow, or something like that. Another belief is that it represents rebirth, as a passing from this life into another. It has even been used to either bring good luck or to take away bad luck, although I think they’re synonimous with eachother personally.
One of the more interesting though for me is the belief that the form of the human skull will ward off evil and perhaps even the grim reaper himself (or herself if you want). For a lot of us out on the roads with so many crazies (ie. cage drivers) around this is possibly the most useful.
Whatever you think skulls may or may not mean though, skull rings remain very popular. As do other biker jewelry and tattoos that depict the skull. In fact, maybe they’re becoming so popular I should stop wearing them myself? But then I don’t give a …..
Some Symbols
Arrow Cross
The Arrow Cross symbol derives from the Hungarian fascist political party known as the Arrow Cross Party that was active during 1935-45. Since then, various neo-Nazis and white supremacists have used the symbol themselves, either generically or as part of the logo of a specific group.
Valknot
The Valknot or "knot of the slain" is an old Norse symbol that often represented the afterlife in carvings and designs. It is often considered a symbol of the Norse god Odin. Some white supremacists, particularly racist Odinists, have appropriated the Valknot to use as a racist symbol. Often they use it as a sign that they are willing to give their life to Odin, generally in battle.
Nonracist pagans may also use this symbol, so one should carefully examine it in context rather than assume that a particular use of the symbol is racist.
SS Bolts
The SS Bolts are a common white supremacist/neo-Nazi symbol derived from Schutzstaffel (SS) of Nazi Germany. The SS, led by Heinrich Himmler, maintained the police state of Nazi Germany. Its members ranged from agents of the Gestapo to soldiers of the Waffen (armed) SS to guards at concentration and death camps.
The SS symbol is derived from the "sowilo" or "sun" rune, a character in the pre-Roman runic alphabet associated with the "s" sound. The Nazis derived many of their symbols from such pre-Roman images. Because the sowilo rune resembles a lightning bolt (with flat ends instead of pointed ends), the SS symbol has come to be associated with a lightning bolt image.
Following World War II, the SS bolts symbol was adopted by white supremacists and neo-Nazis worldwide. Most white supremacists use it in its Nazi form, as two bolt-like images with flattened ends. However, sometimes the symbol may have pointed bottom ends or pointed tops and bottoms. These variants of the SS bolts are most frequently associated with prison tattoos.
The SS bolts are typically used as a symbol of white supremacy but there is one context in which this is not necessarily always so. Decades ago, some outlaw biker gangs appropriated several Nazi-related symbols, including the SS bolts, essentially as shock symbols or symbols of rebellion or non-conformity. Thus SS bolts in the context of the outlaw biker subculture does not necessarily denote actual adherence to white supremacy. However, because there are a number of racists and full-blown white supremacists within the outlaw biker subculture, sometimes it actually is used as a symbol of white supremacy. Often the intended use and meaning of the SS bolts in this context is quite ambiguous and difficult to determine.
Triskele
The triskele (or triskelion) is an ancient symbol originating in pre-Christian Europe. The symbol consists of three curved or jointed segments spiraling from a common center. One version of the triskele, with three human legs, has been used in the coat of arms for the Isle of Man and the Kingdom of Naples. An abstracted triskele appears on the seal of the United States Department of Transportation. The triskele appears in many different variations, from a form that looks like a three-pointed swastika to forms that employ curved lines and curlicues. What they share are three segments emanating from a single central point.
The triskele was one of many ancient European symbols appropriated by the Nazis. Following World War II, the triskele became a significant hate symbol, largely because of its use by the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), a South African white supremacist group that formed in the 1970s. The AWB used a flag similar to the Nazi flag but which replaced the swastika with a triskele that resembled three interlocking sevens.
Because of the AWB usage, it is this "three sevens" version of the triskele that is most commonly associated with white supremacy. It is a common type of white supremacist tattoo and appears in places such as the logo for the racist skinhead group blood & honour.
White supremacists do use other variations of the triskele, too, such as curved triskeles, but so do a much larger number of non-extremists. As a result, such triskeles must be judged very carefully in their context to avoid mistaken assumptions.
Iron Cross
The Iron Cross is a famous German military medal dating back to the 19th century. During the 1930s, the Nazi regime in Germany superimposed a swastika on the traditional medal, turning it into a Nazi symbol. After World War II, the medal was discontinued but neo-Nazis and other white supremacists subsequently adopted it as a hate symbol and it has been a commonly-used hate symbol ever since.
In the United States, however, the Iron Cross also became one of several Nazi-era symbols adopted by outlaw bikers, more to signify rebellion or to shock than for any white supremacist ideology. By the early 2000s, this other use of the Iron Cross had spread from bikers to skateboarders and many extreme sports enthusiasts and became part of the logo of several different companies producing equipment and clothing for this audience. Consequently, the use of the Iron Cross in a non-racist context has greatly proliferated in the United States, to the point that an Iron Cross in isolation (i.e., without a superimposed swastika or without other accompanying hate symbols) cannot be determined to be a hate symbol. Care must therefore be used to correctly interpret this symbol in whatever context in which it may be found.
